Film? Seriously - someone still sells FILM???

Also:

If the Samsung Galaxy S9 might come out in January, what will the Note 9 be capable of next summer?

The chatter I'm getting in the tech world is that the S9 / S9+ will make a surprise appearance at CES in January. It's expected to release really early... maybe March 2018. It leads people (like me) to suspect that Samsung is trying to push the release schedule ahead to build excitement at CES, release the Galaxy S in early spring and the Galaxy Note in mid-summer. Maybe early July. That distances them from IFA Berlin and gives Samsung total domination of the flagship market for months before the next iPhone comes out. Huge grab at market share!

Some pics that I clicked from Note 8 using Auto mode.

I use Pro mode as well in certain situations.

I'm glad you liked that. Yes. There was a long period with people still using black and white. Many photographers still preferred film. And it was easy to process and print yourself.

Now there is a discernible market for colour film. No idea why. It's likely to be C41 process which is also easily done. All seems to be iso200 which is too fast for my tastes anyway.

But NO WAY would I go back to film anyway.

I am very taken with the ability of the panorama mode. Works beautifully.

I needed to take a pic last night which was wider than my 10mm lens could cope with.

Whips out Note 8.

- very easy. Crop and adjust in the Note 8 - S-pen very useful for accuracy here.

Birmingham snow 12/08/2017. A rare event for us! Schools and businesses all closed for the day. The grocery stores were completely sold out of staples like bread and milk. You'd think it was here to stay! Happily, it is all gone today and we are back to normal.

We went to see the Brian Setzer Orchestra play in Nashville. He called it a Christmas concert, and the stage was Christmas-y... but there was very little Christmas to the show otherwise. Anyway, we were up in the balcony at the historic Ryman Auditorium (birthplace of the Grand Ol Opry) and I got this shot. Not bad...

It's a rather interesting music style. If you recall, Brian Setzer was front man for The Stray Cats back in the day... so him fronting a Big Band/Swing orchestra is a curious mix to say the least. Imagine throwing Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Cab Calloway and The Stray Cats into a blender, mixing it well, and pouring out a rockabilly orchestra. It's really pretty good - and I promise, you won't fall asleep!
