Physicals - What a crock

if you get a medical service..

patient needs a medical service..
$50 deductible..
20% billed to client for $300
80% billed to insurance for $1200
but ins have contract with provider to only pay $500.

but if you walk in and tell them .. I don't have ins.. will pay cash.
they charge: $350.

does that mean.. $350 is a good price for the service?
covers cost and meds and equipment
and doctor and nurses.

so.. then the why is ins paying $500?
just so they can get FEE $$$

if you don't believe this.. try it!
I personally have and others that i know too.
This is one of the reasons our entire medical/insurance system is a sham. If anything the insurance companies should be paying less because of volume discount, but no... It's called collusion and should be outlawed but the politicians are paid off by big medical lobbyists.

For many years I lived directly across the street from the town's family doctor. We were sort of drinking buddies. He told me about one of his hospital stays. He went through his bills and found many procedures over priced or weren't performed at all. It made him mad as hell. Though it was being billed to his insurance company, he went straight to the hospital and made them eat crow. Just how dishonest are hospitals? How much is the common man overcharged or wrongly charged and in ignorance of the medical field and terminology meets the given obligation without question?
