Picasa vs. G+ Some questions

So I was wondering if anyone uses the "upload all my photos to G+" feature and if any old Picasa users have found G+ as a suitable replacement.

I kinda miss having easy ways to post images on other sites (picasa was good for this, but I cant even find the feature in G+)


So any thoughts? Tips? Cheese?

Hey ALP!

I'm still resolutely using Picassa here as I can upload directly from Lightroom as part of my post-processing workflow.

I'm not a great 'smartphone snapper'; most stuff taken on the phone is for consumption by particular people so it's shared with them directly.

Google Plus is the new Picasa. It's managed kinda the same. I like it as the way to manage my pictuers, and that every pictuer I take is online, and I never have to worry about storage. However, I also cannot use it to post pictures to onher sites.

I know change in most cases are good for 'progress' but I like PICASA format for uploading and viewing much better than G+

• Graphics render much faster in the Picasa format. Especially when viewing on my device. When loading a Google_+ formatted 'album' on the device, I am staring at a BLANK screen indefinitely - until I tap-zoom out and back in.
  
  
• I feel that with G+, Google seem to tack on more "public" share or 'rights to use your content" behind the scenes than one would care to permit.
  
  
• Noticed with G+ I cant 'hide' my email address from the profile (unless its only visible to the account holder).
  
  
• I never use Facebook because of its constant changing security settings where I got tired re-resetting my defaults every time FB made changes...looks like G+ might be heading that way (just an opinion)

You should be able to post G+ photo content on any site that has an image load option.

This one is from one of my 'unpublished' or 'private' albums that supposedly isn't viewable to the public unless I provide a link to a pic or the entire album

I would switch to Flickr unless you are just a casual user.

Ok, testing Microsoft's SkyDrive . I LOVE how everybody's jumping on the "cloud" phrase as if its not just another server storage. lol something weve had for years.

I do plan to "Quit" Google Picasa soon! its just that this Microsoft img string is so daaaaaayam long!

Every since Google took total control from how you intereact with Picasa , the "Photos" storage and retrieval/display has become very clunky, slow and sometimes your pics do not render until several refreshes.

This is from my SKYDRIVE storage! man its FAST and "CLEAN"

I am moving into my new SKYDRIVE condo like lickety splits! (BUT I AINT GIVING UP MY Androdian citizenship! ROFL)

There must be something i am doing incorrectly with skydrive. My links breaks af/er a few hrs or does the jpgs display only when i am logged into my skydrive acct?

Okay I know what the problem was with my above posts with missing pics. I have been soooo freeeekigly brainwashed with Google's "Picasa" where no matter what you post , its PUBLIC until you jump through hoops to privatize it!

Turns out SkyDrive default are all PRIVATE! Microsoft give YOU the option to make items public or not! Even gives you the ability to set a pic at view Only or full access, meaning you can only view the item if the link is provided for a single or public view, but the viewer cant download.
