Picking Out a new Phone Tomorrow, Learning Toward the Inspire. Atrix Fans Convince Me Otherwise!

If I were you I would get the Inspire. In the last year and a half I have had iPhone 3G, Moto Droid, iPhone 4, Samsung Captivate and now Moto Atrix. The Atrix is the best phone I have ever owned. I am typing this right now via the Webtop mode on my TV in my office.

contradicting statements. but i think he means DON'T get the Inspire.

i loled to the typo or sarcasm above, i work at a third party store that sells att's phones n the inspire ist that bad but the badass hardware of the atrix won me over only thing is inspire is more open to tweaking

I may have had a few already tonight and I was being a bit of a jerk. Seriously, I love the Atrix. But get what you want. If in a few months you find that it is a little lacking and you want/need dual core processors for the THD games that are coming out, need more than a 1250 maH battery to power a 4.3 inch screen with your mostly white background (as well as almost all web pages), or need to video chat with tech support of the Taiwanese phone you just bought then you might want to do a little forward thinking.

On the other hand it does have a kickstand. No, I am wrong. That is the phone with the same specs that came out almost a year ago on Sprint.

I have been running a test tonight, I was testing the battery life of both. The test was turning the brightness at the highest level, turning on all the radio's and video live streaming of flash video's.

The Inspire just died and had to be put on the charger, it lasted about 5 hours. The Atrix is still running with 50% battery left. So for what the battery comparison is worth in the decision, I hope it helps.

For the record I like phones instead of trying to guide you on which one to pick I would say understand how you plan to use it and see which phones feels like a better fit for you.

Again I hope this helps!

ATRIX No Question!!!

-Better Screen

-Faster Processor

-Better Form Factor

-More Ram

-Bigger Battery

-16GB Built in

just overall WAYYYYYY BEEETTTERRRRR!!!!

Someone can convince you to get either one, but in the end you will decide what you want or dont want.

If anything, the bigger battery in the Atrix means you can hold off on an extended battery for the time being. HTC for some reason likes shipping phones with tiny batteries right now.

I see not too many complaints about battery life for the Inspire yet. Still, the Atrix rated talk time is 9 hours while the Inspire's is 6 hours. That normally means the Atrix will last longer while you're using the phone.

HTC battery life was the dealbreaker for me with their phones. Too bad because I really wanted to go HTC. Decided I'm going to grab an Atrix instead.

I started with the Inspire now I have the Atrix. I really, really wanted to like the Inspire but the battery life wasn't great and the screen, although big, just didn't look right to me - especially compared to my old Captivate and iPhone 4. Although the Atrix screen isn't as good as the iPhone's it is still very, very nice. I also didn't like HTC Sense. I haven't felt the need to add Launcher Pro to the Atrix like I did right away with the Inspire. I can't speak about reliabilty yet, but I haven't encountered any bugs and since I haven't registered any services with Motoblur except Google I haven't had any issues with that.

This will sound silly, but make sure you can actually open the Inspire and install/remove the battery. We had an eval unit in at work, and three of us literally could not pry the thing open. We did finally get the cover off, but wound up marring the finish of the phone. It seems strange that a phone could be ruined by a pad battery cover design, but trust me, this is the most difficult battery door you have ever encountered in your life.

Some advice on that battery cover, pry it from the center of the cover not the notch that is supposed to be used, pops right off usually.

I never understood why some people need others to convince them on anything. Go with what you feel fits best for you. Both phones are great but the only thing that matters is what you intend on using it for.

If you want the Inspire, get it! Don't let anyone change your mind if that is the phone you really want. I am sure it is a fine Android smartphone.
Check out the many reviews online and compare specs, and I am sure you will make the right choice for you. The way I see it, it would be hard to go wrong with either one.:)

^Its like the reviews of the LG 2X. Some reviews said it lagged, had crashes, etc. But then you see other reviews and clips and the 2X is looking like a thing of beauty.

Who do you believe? Yourself. Go try one and see if you like it. Hopefully the store model hasnt been abused too badly.
