Picture breaking up

My chromecast is plugged in using the supplied adapter so it's on 24/7. After a couple of weeks the picture starts to break up. Every few seconds it just shows a screen of noise. This happens on the chromecast page, the one with pictures and the time, and if I stream stuff. It is fine after unplugging the power and back in again.

Is it usual that it needs rebooting every so often or does it sound faulty.

Sounds faulty, potentially.

Is it never off between when it happens? Mine gets switched off at the wall every night and I've never experienced that problem. Could you try turning it off overnight and see if that remedies it? I've noticed mine does get hot after it's been on a while so maybe that's what's causing your issues?

Mine is on 24/7 since I've had it, about 3 weeks, and I have not experienced this issue.

Chromecast comes with a one-year warranty, so they should be able to replace it for you. I recently did this for audio issues, and the process was quite painless. :thumbup:
