Help picture message problem

I am using the stock messaging program on my new Droid2. When I receive a picture message, and I click on the picture to enlarge it--it only stays big for a few seconds and then minimizes again. How do I keep it large? Also--how do I save the pictures? I can't seem to save the pictures anywhere.

I use Handcent, so I'm not sure if it's the same for the stock messaging app.

But i just long press on the picture (without clicking on it to enlarge it, just click on the small picture in the massage), then save to SD card.

It worked! My SIL sent pics of my niece and nephews and I couldn't figure out how to save them or even look at them for any length of time. Nothing like a smart phone for a dumb person
