Piggybacks?

Not really sure what to call them. My daughter has a tablet, and she loves to download her own apps. So I have no idea when this happened, but it seems to be causing a problem.
Basically, it seems that when she downloaded an app or two, it came with an additional app and/ or App Store.
I tried addons detector, but that only showed me what was sending push notifications.
So for example, there is an app called "top apps", one called "crush the candies" and a third "fight! Conquer!" none of which can be uninstalled the typical way.
Help! Lol thanks

What is her tablet?

Is the play market on the device, or is it one of the third party markets?

What version of android is it running?

If you are particularly concerned and there is nothing of importance on the tablet then perform a hard reset/wipe of the device to restore it to factory default.

Samsung tab 2 7". Whatever the most recent update was... I can't remember lol. Yes it has the play store, and third party apps is disabled. I don't think she would let me wipe the thing,, she's "worked" very hard to get progress in some of these games

You can try using Helium to back up her game data and then wipe it.

Otherwise go into the settings and check the device administrator list for programs that are not supposed to be there.

Disable anything that seems unusual, then go into application management and remove apps your daughter does not need.

If by chance you are having an issue removing an app it may be because it was granted administrator.

I understand you've been able to remove the offending "piggybackers", but you may want to look through the permissions of your installed apps for any with the permission to "Install Shortcuts". You can do this by accessing Settings > Apps > app name here and scrolling all the way down.

These "piggybacks" are just shortcut, created by apps that use push notifications.
So Addons Detector showed you the culprit apps that you should uninstall. :)
... or disable their notification ability in Settings > Apps > ...

And these "piggibacks" on the home screen, they are not apps, they are shortcuts to web sites ... just move them in the trash can (X Remove)

The apps in question may have set themselves up as device admins, in which case, it must be revoked before you can uninstall. Check for "Device administrators" under Settings > Security.
