Root Pimp my ROM for Marquee

Has anyone used Pimp my ROM before? And will it work with the Marquee and the custom ROMs available for it?

I apply a few tweaks in CM10 test5, dont know if ti was making a difference but it broke n7player so i uninstalled it.

i installed it.
select couple of options, but not sure if it helps.
I'm trying "battery", i most certain there's no effect.

What's most useful options you guys using???

It works for sure on the Marquee. I've been running it for a few weeks now and it helps. My phone is more responsive. Scrolling between homescreens and screen transitions are very fast.

Make sure that you download the recovery package that the app has just in case you get stuck in a bootloop. I have never had mine bootloop but figured I would go ahead and bring that up because it may happen on yours.

As for what tweaks work best for your phone. I suggest playing with it and seeing what works best for you. Certain combinations of tweaks don't work well together for me. Also keep in mind that it's not good to make a bunch of tweaks at the same time. Try making one or two, run your phone for a bit, then make one or two more. That way you'll be able to see what is working and what tweaks have a negative effect.

Also, this app is under constant development. It has updated 3 or 4 times since install. They have added and removed a few things.

does rom manager work on lg marquee

Be careful with ROM Manager.
I've had it on mine for a few days but that was before my motherboard fried. I did not install it when I got my phone back from LG because I've heard about other people having problems with it. I would do some serious research on ROM manager before putting it on your phone. :)

I am using it. I decided that at most choose two tweaks at most then reboot. if you choose all of them at the same time you chance a boot loop. So far so good. Will report after a few more days of use.

I have been tinkering with this too. But I admit I don't know enough about the tweaks and settings available. I know each phone will respond to each differently, but what settings are you folks altering or experimenting with at the moment and what kinds of results are you experiencing? I am just curios.

Thanks,

M

Sure. I have the following tweaks selected:

WIFI connect speed
CPU Governors tweak set to InteractiveX
Disable I/O stats
Scheduler Systctl tweak
Disable Vsync
Ext4 file-System tweaks
Zipalign all APKs at each boot
Battery savings
Dialing-time tweaks
Quick Power-on

NOTE: I have a few more set but this is a good start. Keep in mind that what works for me might not work for you and NOT to set all of these at the SAME TIME. Select a few, reboot and run for a while then select a few more.

Boot time is a little longer too so expect that.

Some phones just can't handle 1400. You can play around with the I/O setting s and Gov settings. It may just be that the phone is not set up right. Try SIO and set you Gov to performance. If that doesn't work, set your I/O to NOOP and try that. Try a few settings. They may or may not work. You can also set your Gov to interactiveX and see if that will help.

EDIT:

Also, you may need to turn your phone up a little at a time. I had to do that for a long time. I would turn it up one setting at a time and run it for 5 or 10 minutes. When I first started overclocking my phone, it would lock up on me when I would turn it up all at once.

Hey Wetbiker,

Have you played with the VM Heap size for CTmod using this program? I am trying to squeeze ever picohz of performance from this from and I have heard that adjusting the VM heap size can help with multitasking.

I would like to know the same thing.

Nope, haven't gotten around to it yet. Since we've been working on MegaTron I haven't been messing around with all the tweaks lately because I've been flashing back and forth between ROMs. :D

I am very interested in the megatron from BTW. I stole the boot screen from the Asus version tweaked the resolution and viola.

I've been testing the heck out of the ROM and it's smooth as butter. As soon as Chevan says he's good to go, we'll be back at it. I look forward to it's completion. :D
