Root Pimp my ROM

Check "Pimp My ROM" out on the play store. Numerous great tweaks and all are universal. I've tried most of them out and they haven't given me any problems and I can definitely tell a boost in performance

Some of it is only in the user's mind. For instance, the option that turns on JIT is completely pointless, JIT is already on by default in ICS.

The thing that adds init.d is a good one if it works, I haven't tried to use any init.d scripts yet though.

Does this app actually work, as in it literally overclocks? I heard that if the kernel doesn't support the app, then overclock/underclock apps are useless.

Just hold the power button and the volume down button, you'll have to do a factory reset.

This is true- having a lot of flashing experience on phones AND tabs, you need a kernel.

You might be able to change the governor though. Which can effect battery life.

Any changes made to /system, will not be reverted by a factory reset. Do if you boot loop due to a change to it, and have no adb, a factory reset won't fix it. It the nature of the beast modding without a custom recovery.

I can testify to this. I recently did this with my Rise and the cause was something I changed with Pimp My Rom.

Don't even think of trying this! This is one of the many options I attempted with my Rise that caused the brick for me. I bought an Event to replace it...

For the record, this app bricked my phone and I was lucky to get a free replacement with my warranty. I do not recommend any rooted user download this app and apply the universal tweaks willy nilly. They could end up breaking your device and making it impossible to recover.

Instead of Pimp My ROM, I recommend people try Andromizer instead. It's much smaller than PMR, and has the tweaks that actually make sense to implement. And yes, like I've said a gazillion times before, DO NOT USE THE KERNEL TWEAKS!

I use the 3G and Wifi Tweaks to the max. That's all I use from Andromizer. Everything else is handled by the egl fix, Titanium, and Link2SD.
