PIN Lock Question

So, my work email requires me to have a PIN lock on the phone, which is very annoying but I'll go with it. I have looked into custom lock screens but are there any that would modify a PIN lock screen? I don't want to have to do both (custom lock screen and PIN lock). Anyone have experience with this?

I'm not 100% sure I understand the question, but I'm guessing that you are trying to avoid having 2 lockscreens (custom one, stock one) followed by a PIN? That's a quirk of android (at least 2.2 and 2.3 - not tried this on 4.x): you can have the pattern lock without the stock lockscreen, but if you select PIN or password you get the stock lockscreen with it. As I use WidgetLocker (custom lockscreen) I have to use pattern rather than PIN as I can't be bothered with 2 sets of locks before the PIN.

Assuming that is the problem, would your work be OK with you using a pattern rather than PIN?

Just my two cents here...my understanding of Microsoft Active Sync is that it forces a PIN lock on both Android phones and iPhones.

The way I understand it there is no way around it with the e-mail security policy. You can, however, I believe disable the Pattern Lock so the only lock is the PIN Lock.
