PIN lock screen question

Is it at all possible to have the lock screen default to not having the key pad there when you press the sleep/awake button?

For example, I'd like to have just the lock screen appear and then be able to swipe to bring up the key pad to type in my PIN.

Any help would be appreciated.

On stock/unrooted devices, no.

You might be able to on a custom ROM possibly. Hopefully someone else replies with a bit more know how than me when it comes to that sort of customisation.

You can do so if you root. No need for custom ROM, just install Xposed Framework and Gravity Box. You can then select the option to have Maximised lock screen.

Without root, I'm afraid you can't do anything.

Welcome to the forums!

Everyone else is correct in that without root, the numbers will always show up there first. However, with root, you have many options, including those named above.

If you do have root, or end up getting it, and install Xposed Framework, the module XLockSecuritySlide will do just what you're looking for.

But it might not work if you're using a non-stock widget on your lock screen. I had trouble getting it to work with HD Widgets.
