Pinch and Zoom

i'm thinking simfree as poor me is on a contract with O2 UK & still no update :(
i've also been on the O2 forums & nobody has the update there too
 
PC companion says I have the latest software..why wont it see that I need the pinch and zoom update!??! this is frustrating!

im with rogers too.. isnt it supposed to be out?

hi rose,
i finally updated using PC companion. it took a while, but at least now i can pinch and zoom. any one in california should be able to update as well.

This is like waiting for the 2.1 to come out lol,
I'm on O2 /UK as well , my phone is sim free, but it came with O2... }
Tried 5 minutes ago for the update, but no luck, not sure why others are getting it! oh, and I haven't rooted my phone
 
I am on O2 UK.. have been regularly checking for updates in both SEUS & PC Companion but it says I have the latest software. When I checked with O2 Support on 17th March, they were not sure on when the update would be released.
 
So I'm sure most of you have heard by now about SE announcing the release of gingerbread in Q2/Q3...Well considering quite a few of us are still waiting on the last update they released no thanks in part to the idiotic carriers we have to put up with. I'd say that we can expect to see this update sometime in Q4/Q1 :mad:!!!

I am also looking into the option of debranding my O2 x10i to get pinch to zoom & also to get the 2.3 update :D as soon as it is released. Did you debrand it to the generic version & get the pinch to zoom update through SEUS or did you use the firmware which already has pinch to zoom??

Also is the generic version specific to UK? sorry to ask too many questions..I am new to this.:confused:

I flashed to the latest generic version & then updated via PC Companion, honestly it was a very smooth process and I couldn't be happier :)
 
i get the same thing. tells me Im up to date when i know im obviosuly not! And i still have that pesky like 8mb download in my notification bar I cant get rid of

Thanks. Flashed the generic firmware & got the pinch to zoom update..:D:D.
 
Lost the Purity Wifi application on debranding. Is it a O2 specific application? I am not able to find it in the android market.
But I am happy that the pinch to zoom is good & also I see some improvement in battery life after debranding my phone.

I did this last night after getting fed up with waiting for Orange to get their ass in to gear, very easy process and I couldn't be happier with the phones performance, also i will now get generic 2.3 when it's released :D
 
I've just been on the Orange Uk website and it would seem that they no longer stock the Xperia x10, so I would imagine that there will be no Pinch and Zoom update let alone 2.3 update from them
 
I am on O2 Pay Monthly. I have just updated PC Companion software and it has updated my X10i to Baseband version 2.1.54 and Build number2.1.A.0.435. I NOW HAVE PINCH AND ZOOM.

I'm on O2 (with a Tesco 30-day sim) and I've just updated my X10i using SEUS.
I've gone from Baseband 2.0.46 to 2.1.54 and Build Number 2.0.A.0.504 to 2.1.A.0.435 as well.

My phone seems to be a bit quicker, plus I too have pinch and zoom :D
 
Help please! I just finished update,
Turned on my phone,
It's stuck on "Sony Ericsson" Logo.... Now... it has been like that for 5 minutes!??!
