I don't see how people are putting these custom sliders on their phones and I don't see where it is. I have gone to add a widget and tried to put a freakin slider on it and its not even an option.

Someone please walk me through this or point me to an actual walkthrough on everything.

What do you mean by "custom sliders"?

You can change the slider style by opening the WidgetLocker app from the app drawer, clicking the Menu button and then selecting Settings > Look and Feel > Slider and Layout

You can add new sliders for applications by clicking the Menu button, selecting Add, and choose Custom Slider.

This all has to be done in the WidgetLocker "Tool Mode" which is accessible by opening WidgetLocker from the app drawer (not by locking your phone and unlocking it).

If you are talking about the custom icons within the sliders, like what they are doing over at xda, then that's not something that is not "currently" ;) available without the tinkering they are doing. If you are talking about just putting a slider on the screen with different functions, then the post above is your ticket.

Custom icons in the Widget Locker slider can be done if you use Folder Organizer. No need to mess with XDA customizations.

I have FO. Care to share the steps? Since WL uses it's own internal icons, I don't see how FO can override them, but would be interested to find out.

You have to do this in 2 parts

Part 1
-Launch FO
-Click Apps
-Scroll to the app whose icon you want to replace with a custom icon
-Click the circled arrow
-Select ICON
-Click Android Image Gallery (if you filed your preferred icon in your Gallery)
-Browse to the icon with which you want to replace the original and click it
-You'll return to FO and you'll see that your custom icon replaced the original icon
-Exit FO
***Note: Once you customize an app icon via Folder Organizer, it becomes the new "default" icon for the app wherever you *you add it via the shortcut method below*, even in LPP, so you don't even need to replace the icon in LPP anymore when you add the app to your homescreen (as an FO shortcut).

Part 2
-Go to WidgetLocker screen, make sure you are in Tools mode for WidgetLocker
-Long click an open space and select CUSTOM SLIDER
-Select the left/right/center dropdown arrow (wherever you want to add the customized app/icon you created in Part 1)
-Scroll down and select "SELECT SHORTCUT" (you may need to wait a while for the next screen, be patient)
-Scoll down and clcik FOLDER ORGANIZER ITEM
-Select APPS
-Scroll to the customized icon/app you created in Part 1 and click that item

Then Save

Voila!

You can also use Desktop Visualizer to change the icons in the sliders. That's what I use.

I used DV but got frustrated with it.

It seemed that everytime I had to update the app in the market, I had to re-customize the icons on my homescreen.

I got Folder Organizer for the express purpose of "nesting" folders within folders. But then I found out that once I customize an icon in FO, it STAYS customized even when I update the app AND the customized icon are retained in the nested folders.

I've replaced almost all the apps I have with customized icons, the "white" LPP icons. So, for the most part I have a monochromatic set of icons throughout my phone.
