Pitting on back of phone

Hi, has anyone experienced what looks like pitting on the back of there phone? I've had my phone a couple of months now and have always had it in a case. It only comes out to sit in the charging dock. Yesterday I happened to notice the back had very small pit marks.
Anyone else have the same issue?
Also if I were so inclined, could I return the phone?

I have them too, they are on the back side, near the edge that goes into the charging dock.

Same here, phone always in the case, even when using the charging dock.

They are very small, only to be seen when phone is looked at at an angle, but they are there. I've always wondered how they appeared, but they are not very apparent, not really a problem.

I suppose they are actually on the ASF on the back of the phone, it couldn't be the glass that's under.

So if this is not an isolated issue (just mine) would it be classed as a design fault. A bit extreme I know. But none the less.

I have a bit of OCD when it comes to things like this. And it's really going to bug me.

I like the idea of the screen protector on the back. Won't be seen as in a case. But again not what we should be doing.

Yeah, I understand your concern when it comes to a phone that still costs 600 euros.

No idea what we can (if we can, that is) do about it, probably just carry on. After I discovered those marks, I started using a screen protector, Nillkin, but it's a bit late now. I don't even have an idea how those marks formed, although I have an idea it's because of the charging dock.

Very interesting, I thought the back was glass too?

However, I put a protector on the front and back the day it came out of the box, so no such pitting here luckily.

I have contacted Sony. I understand nothing will come of it. But for the sake of 2mins filling a form in. I thought why not.

Indeed, the back is glass, but on top of the glass there is that ASF, and I think those tiny marks are actually over the surface of that plastic film.

I didn't know that. I knew the film was on the front. Guess because I put protectors on straight away I just didn't notice.
