hey all, i'm looking to finally switch from iphone 4 to an android device today, though i have a few questions...

which is the best android phone on AT&T? atrix, infuse, etc... just name it!

also, does the galaxy s II work with AT&T 4G or is it just a 3G phone with them? wouldn't this make the infuse superior?

sorry if the questions aren't supposed to be asked here, but it's my first time in the forum and i'm a little lost! let me know if i'm in the wrong place and i'll be more than happy to close the thread or place it elsewhere, thank you!

The Galaxy S2 does not support 4G.

Asking which phone is better is like comparing apples and oranges. Which one do you prefer? Are you going on value for money? Quality build? Ease of use? Camera? Battery life? Each hold different levels of value for each individual.

I have the Galaxy S2 and I love it. I have no idea when 4G is being introduced in the states so I can't comment on that. However 4G will, for all intents and purposes, 'future-proof' your phone.

4G is only important if you have it in the areas that you live / work in. or will be in the near future.

you might want to ask in the AT&T section.

you might want to go into an ATT store.. to play with the phones first. then ask more questions

i've heard chatter that even though a phone can support 4g speeds... that the carrier can't.. haha. That is, even though they say the area is 4g supported, the speeds are not "4g-esque".

rumor or reality, I don't know yet.
My area does NOT have 4g support.:(

hey guys, thanks for the replies!

i ended up selling my iphone for $450 and bought a brand new, rooted GSII for $385 lol. the guys at the store also had the infuse brand new rooted at $350 and the atrix brand new rooted at $380, so they have great deals for droid phone over there i guess!

it works flawlessly with AT&T, and unlike the atrix (i had tried it and barely touched 2mb/s), this baby's lowest speed test has been 5.88mb/s, with the hightest being 11mb/s. i NEVER expected these kinds of speeds!

i'd reccomend this phone to anyone on at&t. it's the best phone i've ever tried so far, plain and simple

P.S. - i know that AT&T isn't exactly 4g, but the phone IS displaying the "H+" logo, so i guess that it works. also checked and AT&T caps the atrix's download/upload speeds, so that may be the reason as to why it's even slower than the iphone 4 that i've been using all the time (lol yeah, i'm not exaggerating on that)

My gosh, where is this store, selling brand-new rooted phones for amazing prices?
