Is there a way that I can add my Google Play Music Account to my wife's phone for use as one of my 10 devices in Play Everything without having her receiving my Hangout msg's?
 
Hi

Yes, I think:

On her phone

open hangouts
menu button
settings
select your account
select "sign out"

That should stop her getting your hangout feeds (until she signs into your account again)
