Help Play/pause/skip buttons gone from lock screen

In the past, when listening to music on my Incredible, if I locked the phone the music would continue to play just fine. If I wanted to pause/play/skip a song, all I had to do was hit the power button and above the "Slide to unlock" bar there was a music control bar.

Now, my music still plays, but those buttons are gone from the lock screen. This is a pain because in order to pause my music when someone comes to my desk at work I have to hit the power button, unlock the phone, slide down the notifications window, wait for the music app to load then hit pause.

Anyone know how to get these buttons back?

Strange, I had hoped the Incredible would have these buttons, but mine hasn't had them from the beginning.
Sorry, I know that's no help . . .
Have you tried pressing the optical track ball or volume buttons?

Have you tried restarting your phone?

If you're using the stock music player, they should be there. I have them on mine.
