An app called Permissions Manager allows denying keep awake permission for Google Play Services (or any other app for that matter) without root. I had been uninstalling updates to Youtube, Google, Gmail et al since the problem started. A major PITA. This app seems to have fixed it.I have 49% battery left after 10.25 hours and the phone seems to be sleeping when it should. Hope this helps somebody.
