I've been doing a lot of reading about Google play services and services framework and them causing overheating and battery drain.. Because google controls location and everything else on android any google app used has risk of being affected by this... Chrome earth, playstore, maps, youtube, etc.. I tried this the other day and after some careful consideration I feel there could be something to be said here. If your gps is waking or something if your media is constantly running this COULD be why.
By no means is this a fix unless people report back saying it works.. On cm10 go to setting-apps-googleplay services-clear data.. Then to Google services framework and clear data as well and reboot.. When the device turns back on agree to location access then open Google settings and check location reporting and location history.. Open up greenify and all your nonsystem gapps that require location should either be pending or active.. Hibernate all gapps except chrome and exit out and reboot. Again go to greenify and make sure they're staying Hibernated if not, hibernate again and then go to phone settings and clear data on them if they are hibernated you're good.. I've done this method everytime I've had to restore data and I have absolutely no issues.. If I open gps I just simply reboot when i get a chance. No need ti go into airplane mode for 15mins rebooting kills the process as long as gps is turned off.
Let me know if this does anything to help.. Again this is not currently a solution but rather an idea that needs testing..
