Help Play shop problem

I first started having problems with the market after updating it about 3 weeks ago (when it was still called market) I could only access 'my apps' as the home screen for the market was just a black empty screen.
I have since updated to play shop and the problem still persists. Could someone please help me with a solution for this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You may want to check out the Google Play Help website. Within the site, check for 'known issues'. That is a worthwhile starting point.
