Play wav files through command line

I have a Hisense Sero 7 LT, rooted. I want to set up a quarterly chime with my own .wav files using cron, but I cannot find a way to play the sounds through the command line. I do the same thing on my linux laptop using "play", but that command is not present on my tablet.
