Playback audio while recording?

[Azeo]

I'm looking at using either my galaxy fascinate or my HTC Amaze as field records, and I was just wondering if anyone out there knew of an app that would allow me to listen to audio while it plays back. I've found apps that allow me to listen to my speaker, and apps that record high quality sound files, but none that actually allow me to do both at once.

Also, when I try to run the apps at the same time, my phone crashes.

Is this just a limitation of Android, at this point? Or am I missing some golden app, one that I just can't seem to find?

That'd be nice as a loud speaker if hooked up to a speaker system.

What I'm thinking of is using a microphone and a pair of head phones, and splitting them. That way, I'd actually be able to get nice sound. It'd be pretty silly if I wanted all this to just play back some bad audio loop.
