Root Playing 720p video...without lag.

Has anyone on 2.1 been able to play 720p quality video without serious lag or will this phone with it's non-hd screen never be able to do this?

I close all apps with task killer to free up as much memory as possible. I've tried in rockplayer, rockplayer lite and real player.

That works a bit better... a 1.6 mp4 plays almost smooth, but the 2.6gb mkv still lags...not as much but still.

Vplayer seems better... plus the ads for vital player are annoying as is the pause/play remaining on the screen. Thanks though.

I think i'll just have lower quality video on the phone.
