Help Playing music through rv stereo

On road trip trying to play music through our eva new head unit using my ATRIX internal memory. When I plugin to the usb it unmounts the memory, says it does not regonize the file type, and starts giving driving directions through the head unit.???

Buddies phone plays flawless.

Need help. It is a pioneer head unit says usb/ ipod on front.

Anytime you plug in the USB to a USB port, you will see a notification in the notification bar that says USB connect, or something like that. Press it and you will have four option, choose none and see if that works. (This option only charges the phone and will allow access to the SD card and internal memory.

I have the same issue. The unit I have is formatted to work with phone/pod but does not work with any other device.
