Help Playing music through stereo Google Now bug?

I set up my stock verizon nexus (JB) to play through my home stereo today (wired). The music played fine for about 2 songs (Pandora and then later tried TuneInPro) but then it started opening Google Now over and over listening for microphone input.
Anyone else had this problem? I'm trying to nail it down, but it was really annoying.

I rebooted the phone and still had issues.

JB is set up to respond to a certain type of button press on headsets and activate Google Voice Search. I'm going to guess that since you're connecting by wire your stereo might be inadvertently sending something back to the phone that is triggering this.
