Playing notifications more than once?

So, all I am asking is if there is ANY way at all to be able to play a notification more than once for SMS?

I really don't want an app to do this for me, but if that is the only option, what is the best one to do what I want? All I really want is for the notification to play more than once. I'm very forgetful about things and if I'm busy when my notification goes off, I normally don't get it until much later.

GoSms Pro has the option for multiple notifications (referred to as reminders within the notifications options) it allows you to select how many times to be reminded and how often.

Another option is the free edition of Lightflow. You can set vibration patterns, lights (and in some cases their color) and notification sounds to remind you based on how often they remind you and for how many hours those patterns will repeat.

I personally love it! But have not tried GoSMS

I don't really want a full on stock replacement, but I guess I might as well try it out and see how it is. What other alternatives to GoSMS are there that you guys would recommend?

I will look up Lightflow and probably try it out.

Is there really no way to get my phone to do this in a "lightweight" manor though? I know installing an application isn't very hard at all, and I have plenty of space left over, but I'm kind of a conservative when it comes to applications, and I don't like to have a whole lot. Guess I might have to change this though.

I agree with you and try to run with as few applications, etc as possible myself.

Personally, once I got lightflow set up and customized it, i loved it. gmail to sms to sms from a specific person all have different light notifications and tones set to different frequencies on my Galaxy Nexus. I find it a huge help.

But, to be fair, I have seen discussions about whether or not lightflow is a battery drain. To date, I have not seen a great argument on either side. But my estimate is that the slight majority probably say battery drain. Though, I have personally not seen a significant change in battery life - if any.

Well, I tried it out and unfortunately it seems to only work when it feels like it. I read some of the reviews and it also appears another user with the same phone is having the exact same problem as me, so I'm going to assume it just doesn't want to work for me.

Is there any other suggestions besides getting a full on stock replacement for SMS?

I now prefer Pansi over Go SMS. Its lighter and well, Go Products seem to get bloated and spammy nowadays (spam you with ads).

I have had ZERO problems with GoSms being spammy and it runs fairly lightweight as far as mb's.

GoSms is the only sms app that I know of that has so many different notification options.
But each to their own.

Can you vouch for GoSMS for never giving you late SMS or missing any in general?

No one can vouch for that Xd...because receipt of texts is not only about the sms app it is about your service provider and signal as well, which an app would have no control over.

Anyone who says they can 100% vouch for you receiving every single text message you are ever sent,or that you will never get a late text is ignorant at best as not even your service provider can say that with 100% certainty.

What I can tell you is what I already have told you and that is that GoSMS has all the repeat and reminder notifications that your original post is seeking, and I know this because I actively use GoSMS myself. I can also tell you that I personally have not had any issues with it being spammy at all.

Hope this helps. :)

I was asking if it misses any texts that your stock would otherwise get, but I'm guessing your answer will be that it doesn't.

I guess what I'll end up doing is trying it out for a week, then trying out Handcent and Pansi and see which one I like more. Might as well evolve from the stock at this point. Thanks for your help.

Pansi has the same options as GoSMS. And I like the look better. However after the recent update I've been receiving SMS from Go advertising various apps, and it doesn't appear as a number and cannot be blocked by a call or sms blocker, making it seem to be app generated.

I've been reading about people getting this, but so far I haven't had it yet. Go SMS user for about 3 hours at this point, I guess.

Except for the first message, which was stored in my inbox saying it was from them and had some random stuff on it that didn't really seem like it mattered to me, so I just deleted it. However if I do seem to be getting spammed, I'll be sure to check out Pansi. I checked out Handcent and hated it, not sure why though. So Pansi will be my next choice if Go SMS doesn't work out.

Does Pansi have an SMS reminder? All I'm really looking for.

Edit: Have you looked in your stock SMS to see if the spam appears there as well? Unless you're rooted and you uninstalled it anyway.
