Playstore problem

I've recently had this problem where my youtube videos wouldn't and still won't play even though I have Internet connection it still says "Lost connection to server" so when I tried to update it my playstore won't update or download any apps it just says downloading no percentage no notification nothing, I'd be very grateful if someone couldn't help me with these two problems.

It would help if you could tell us if you had t all working once on that device, where you are (country/state), whether your device is bought where you live, on which provider and if you have Internet connection via WiFi or 3/4G. Are you able to make a call?
