Root Please advise on how to proceed with Stock Rom Plus, android system updates being pushed on me

Alright, after reading every post on rooting and flashing about a dozen times, I finally pulled it off. I rooted my JB phone (started as a factory ICS), and I got Stock Rom Plus running on it. Thank you to EVERYONE who took the time to give advice and post custom ROMs on here.

That said, my intention was to get JB off and get some form of ICS on so I don't deal with the screen freeze issue anymore. So, I do not want to see this phone 'upgrade' it self back to its old problems. I get Stock Rom Plus running, and immediately it downloads a 30.5 MB "Android System Update." I'm happy with Stock Rom Plus, all I want is a decent camera, google maps, my contacts (calling/texting) and some media readers.

Is there any way to disable this thing from updating itself and pushing future updates on me?

Thanks for your advice! Sorry, I was trying to do this all without polluting this forum with my newb questions but I think I got as far as I can on my own. I can't discern a good answer to this system update thing.

That update is just the baseband update, it won't freeze your phone, and won't install anyway if you don't have the stock recovery.
The actual JB update is like 300 or so mb.

I've got a thread around here somewhere on how to disable the update notifications, too.

There is also a bloatware thread that outlines what to get rid of /disable to avoid freezing issues with JB, which has worked quite well for me. I haven't frozen in weeks.
