you are pissing in the wind norb....

there is no real way to stop those folks, unless you use Moderator Approval of each new member.

Talk about slowing down getting new members on a forum.... that does it in a hurry.

I moderate a motorcycle forum, and there, the environment is of the 'family oriented' type situation, and porn and filth adverts are abhorred as a lot of folks have children who are also interested in motorcycles.

we took a vote on the forum, make it harder to become a member, or leave it open to the Porn Posts?

The Spammers lost..... all new member requests get stuck in a cue until I or another moderator sees it and inspects the posting.... not hard to tell if the poster is a real live person, or a person who is really interesting in finding out how to fix his broken motorcycle.

I can ignore the bot threads/posts...

I hate the pop-ads.. I have to wait for it to fully load.. before I can click the "x".
or it has a timer!!!!!!!

pisses me off... very very very very VERY much.

I don't want to load an "ad blocker". I want the site to earn what advertising it gets.
just stay out of my main view.. unless I click on IT!!!

Sorry, but the thread title is misleading. And yes, it can be pretty annoying to run into spammers here. I know I have several times.

At one time, someone even had the audacity to PM me with their spam! But they weren't around too much longer after reporting them, thanks to the staff here.

Bottom line: just do your part by reporting the offenders and move on. Because we all have to work together to help Android Forums remain a pleasant experience for everyone as much as possible.

hello i have a samsung s5 mini and im coming across this what i would call a junk popup im not sure where it came from and why or where it belongs to and how do i get the app off.i dont know where it comes from but i took a screen shot of it keep trying me to load crap apps not sure where it came from do u guys know.

It sounds like something residing with an app you have loaded. Think back to when this annoying pop up came about and consider what you might have installed at that time. Removing the bad apple from your app library will likely rid you of the problem.

If the bots want to set up their own forum and post their spam there then that's fine. Just not here.

Unless of course they reach this point (hidden because language is not young person friendly):
