Please help a complete utter newb

Hi guys

Just bought myself a tablet after giving the laptop the heave ho....

Its a Wondermedia 8650, after some research though Google, I have heared you can "root" the device.

I had a go at Understanding what rooting is and tried to give this a go. But i've got nowhere.

Can someone possibly point me to any tips about rooting? What do I need to know, understand etc.

Whats the best Rom for my device as well?

Any help is appriciated. Thanks!
