please help choose phone

Hi dear users.i m new to this forum,
and would like to have your assistance regarding choosing a handset
between Google nexus one and HTC desire.
please help me which is the best phone to choose from and why.

They're basically the same phone.

Really it comes down to a couple of things:

Flashy trackball or optical pad thing
Capacitive or hardware buttons

I would include Sense or Vanilla there, but you can install either on both.
 
I know its slightly off topic because it doesnt look like it will show up in the US but the Desire HD looks awesome. I would love a phone with a 4.3" screen. My pockets are big enough (except for being able to hold enough money to buy one on a whim...)
