Please help..Do I need to exchange my DROID?

I am having some issues with my phone and wondering if it is something that updates will fix or do I need a new phone or is there something I can do to fix myself? I do have one of the privacy screens on it which i believe has been recalled because of people having issues..I don't know what kind of issues they were having. Somebody said yesterday the screen might cause echoing, is that possible but only with my sister?!?!? Thanks for your help advice in advance.

1. When I talk to my sister (she has verizon also) she always hears an echo of her voice...she hates it!
2. It will lock up in messaging and I cannot hit any buttons for a few seconds and it will come up with messaging error and I have to force close.
3. When I am in my email it will say connection error across the top randomly.

I can't speak for the other problems, but have you tried adjusting the volume on your (or her) phone? I know that high volumes can sometimes cause an echo.

I have having hte problem with the messaging app as well. when I click to compose it hangs up for about 10 seconds then gives me a force close dialog box. pretty annoying.

I think I will just go to Verizon and see what the say!! Sometimes places like this know more than the sales associate?!? Just wanted some opinions.

Very annoying. i just worry exchanging my phone and I will end up having worse problems.

The echo issue is acknowledged in the bulletin about the Dec 11th update.

If you are having issues with the native POP3 app, there are several threads on alternative apps, which are more stable and flexible. K-9 Mail being one.

The issues you're having sound more like software instead of hardware. If you're just having those echo issues with just your sister, I doubt it's an issue with the actual phone.

Try clearing out your SMS threads and see if it still locks up on you in the messaging app.

Ok I cleared it out and will see if it still does it. If it is software issues they will be able to be cleared up with updates, correct?

Where do I see all the info on the upcoming updates for software?

Thanks for all the help advice!!
