Oh so a friend of mine husband just passed away she has a galeax ii and she wants to save an old voice mail of his and his greeting from his voice mail. I have searched for an app that would do this but I have had no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Voice mails are unfortunately stored on your carrier's server. The only way I can think of is to connect your phone to your computer's microphone jack and record them. Also, I would think your carrier could also give you the files as well.

Yes, as said, carriers will retrieve and provide a voice mail upon explanation: I've done it with Verizon. I went to the local store and the tech went right to his computer and asked the date of the vm and loaded it into my phone for me. :)

In the meantime, I would recommend in a quiet room recording the voicemails with another device like a digital voice recorder, etc.

i.e. Speaker phone and digital voice recorder held up to the phone speaker. It won't be the best quality, but it will be something while you talk to the carrier (Also, some of these message systems auto delete after xx days.)

(On a side note, Kevin Rose of google once mentioned that a nice bonus to google voice is that after his father passed away, he had two years worth of his father's voicemails saved so he can listen to them moving forward. An interesting bonus to using google voice for voicemail.)

You might also be able to record using an 1/8" to 1/8" (headphone to headphone) from the head phone jack on a phone to line in on a PC. If your phone will output the sound through the headphone jack, it would be a better recording than the ear piece speaker.
