Root Please Help Me!

I need help..
Here's my situation:
MyTouch 4g (Htc glacier) : Android 2.2.1
Right now its basically brand new, running stock everything.
I REALLY would like this: Virtuous Fusion MT4G v1.1.8 by eViL_D
I also need a 100% guarenteed way to make sure my phone isnt ruined.
Could somebody give me a step by step how to do this.
Please include teaching me the most reliable way to root and exactly everything I need to do.

sorry.. no guarantees in rooting/modding... so many variables that can affect the final outcome. these variables are not likely to happen, but they can.
example: bad sdcard, bad file download, bad data cable, bad battery die, human error: you skipped a step (this is the most likely problem)

but in 99% of the times it fails... it can be fixed.
88% of all statics are madeup.



and you really need to take this to your specific phone forum where users with experience in with your phone can help you.

I would say c'mon over and join the masses at xda.. Here's a good spot to start at. Hasn't been updated in a month but it will point you in the right direction. The best thing to do before you root is NOT to have someone tell you how to do it, but to read, read, and read, and make sure it's exactly what you want to do, not because it "sounds cool". Too many ppl brick their phones by trying to be "cool" when their mistakes could have been fixed by simply reading.

I read up on the rooting process for about 2 wks before i actually rooted, haven't had a single hiccup and I understand what I'm doing and what some ppl talk about. I'm not a dev so I don't know the inner-workings of things.

You need to educate YOURSELF on rooting, the rooting threads give you a "step-by-step" on how to root, how to flash a custom recovery. The rom threads give you a step-by-step on how to flash a rom. The kernel threads give you a step-by-step on how to flash a kernel. The xda community (MT4G comm in general) is EXTREMELY helpful, just read first, if you don't find an answer after using the search function, then ask a question. If you have any serious questions, you can PM me on here or XDA. (same name on xda)

I am sorry I may have missed your video tutorial link or it may have been taken down but I now have a new tmobile mytouch 4g that I really want to root but basically i need an "almost" automated process, if your vid will help do that or if you have an updated link...plz help....thx very much!
