Please Help - Network or sim card error

FIXED - noob issue. Basically the baseband was too old and I wasn't getting reception.




Hello all... First I'd like to say that I have searched the forum with little results. I'm not an expert rooter/flasher so I probably did something wrong.

I purchased a stock Inc 2 and used ebay to unlock it to use with ATT. It worked for a day perfectly but I wanted to root and get rid of bloatware.

After a few roms, I started to notice I couldn't get a signal anymore from GSM. CDMA or global wants me to connect or set up via Verizon.

When I set it on GSM it immediately goes to no bars and then "no network found". When I try to go to GSM call settings, it says "call settings error: Network or sim card error." I know this is not a setting that I messed up on and it has to be software.

So now I'm down to android 2.3.3 stock Ruu.

Anyone have a fix for this? I am still rooted/s-off and have revolutionary recovery. I tried to get rid of that stuff too but the thread deemed it irrelevant. Would appreciate any help or better lead please.

Also, my sim works in my old phone and I can make calls. I have it inserted correctly in the Inc 2, face down, knick down. If I put the knick up as someone else has suggested, it says no sim card.



I have the same post under the specific phone model but it's an old phone and not sure if people are looking there anymore.

You need to carrier unlock this. The Incredible 2 is a verizon phone, and the GSM is only available as a world phone feature. Rooting is not the same as unlocking.

Call Verizon, tell them you bought it online, and they may help you unlock it for a fee. There are websites that offer this service as well for a fee. Some phones have free methods. I would google it

Long story short, phone is locked to Verizon, need to SIM unlock it.

I ebay unlocked it with the imei number which is what verizon would have done also. When I press disable sim card lock it says "sim lock is diabled". I have already unlocked it before. Like I said, I used it for a day no problem, it was when I tried to flash new roms that I stopped getting gsm signals. And now I think I'm at stock and still no signal.
