Hi I have a problem I am trying to help my sister in law, my brother is tracking her phone Samsung galaxy s2 we believe and we know as he has sent messages to her phone that she sent to someone else that day, when he sent them back we noticed that there was a number attached to the message can anyone tell me what this number is and is it a password maybe for the tracker 0104201214, now also she said she gets apps that just randomly appear and go away what is with that??
we need to remove this tracker and we can not seem to find the app in the app list, I believe it may have a stealth tracking app on it. can anyone please help, really need this removed.
also I was wondering if there is a app to stop tracking apps being installed on to your phone. thanks in advance:)
she said she thinks it just tracks her calls and sms's
please help thanks

Not an expert mind you but I would think that he would have to be in possession of the phone to add an app.
I can think of only one way to remove a hidden app. Do a factory reset.
If he has remotely installed a app to her phone the only way I know to prevent this is to change her number and be sure he does not get it in the future.

First of all,

I am very sorry to hear about your SIL trouble.
I personally have never heard of a tracking app, but I figure that it is possible.

My recommendation would be for her to do a Factory Reset on the phone. That should wipe out any and all rogue apps. Check out this link here restore-phone-factory-settings
After the Factory Reset, in order to list the apps that your SIL had on her phone, I woul have her log into her Google account from a computer, and go to the Google Play Market which will list all of the Market authorized apps that she had on her phone before the Factory Reset.

Also, if you, or she, thinks your brother is stalking her via the tracking app, you might want to notify the authorities.

Hope all works well for you and your Sister In Law

This all works as I had it in my post but if the sister still has the same number and the exhusband still has her number he can put the tracking software back on the phone.
As for the tracking app, it might be one of the apps that people can add to a phone after it was stolen, apps like this allow the owner to track their phone and let the police know where it is to get it back. If her husband knows enough about the phone and the acct on it he can walk back in to it and do it all again. Having said this it may also be necicery for her to change the Google acct on the phone after the factory reset.
