Help PLEASE HELP. Tablet 10.1 not connecting with my PC (Windows XP) using the USB

Hello All. I received this tablet as a gift but I am spending lots of time figuring out stuff. I am not a very good tech person so I am trying to learn.
A few days ago I succeded in connecting the tablet with my PC and I transfered a book successfully to my tablet. Last night I tried to do the same with another book purchased from Itunes but
last night I couldn't even connect the 2 together again. I tried for hours trying figuring out and it still didn't work at 3 am so I gave up.
Please help me? Tks, Sue

Make sure you have USB debugging off (Settings > Applications > Development). If so, and assuming you have the Samsung USB drivers installed on your pc (sounds like you do, since it worked once already), it should connect right up.
