Hello, I have a problem. I was using phone B with sim card number 12345678 with whatsapp installed before aug year 2019, In aug 2019 I changed to use phone A with sim card number 12345678 and left phone B unused.

Today I got a new sim card number 24682468 and I decided to use it in phone B. In phone B I just installed whatsapp using sim card number 24682468, after installing whatsapp, I saw whatsapp chat history of phone B with sim card number 12345678, chat history was until aug 2019 which was until the time I changed to use phone A with sim card number 12345678 and left phone B unused.

In phone A, I have a sim card number 12345678 and already using whatsapp working fine that I did not want to have any changes, android phone using google account example@gmail.com

Now in phone B, I have a sim card number 24682468 and I wanted to install whatsapp that is not linked to phone A. In phone B I accidentally login to the same google account example@gmail.com before installing the whatsapp and I installed whatsapp and now whatsapp inside 24682468 phone B, I see the Phone B chat history stopped at aug 2019 (not the complete of Phone A chat history which included 2020 to today chat). I see the Phone B chat history stopped at aug 2019 which was at that time I left phone B unused.

Now phone A with sim card number 12345678 shows the complete chat history. Phone B with 24682468 shows the chat history of sim card number 12345678 before aug 2019.

I want phone A and phone B to be completely separate with different whatsapp. Phone B should not show chat history of sim card number 12345678. Now in phone A whatsapp three dots>settings>I click on my profile it shows phone number 12345678, in phone B whatsapp three dots>settings>I click on my profile it shows phone number 24682468

Thanks.

How to uninstall? Just uninstall the whatsapp app like any normal uninstallation or app, or is there steps to like uninstall whatsapp account before uninstalling whatsapp app.

I can just uninstall whatsapp in phone B correct, and no need to uninstall phone A whatsapp?

yes just uninstall like you would with any app, unless it came preinstalled originally with the phone. not sure what you mean by uninstall whatsapp account. most accounts can not be uninstalled or undone(i think this is what you mean).

yes you can uninstall it....or....you can also just clear data for whatsapp. this should wipe the account and you can just sign in to a new account and all will be good.

My meaning of uninstall whatsapp account is that I was thinking if there is any steps to be done inside the whatsapp account e.g. press settings, press whatever, before uninstalling the app.

Can I leave the phone A whatsapp alone? I mean don't touch anything in phone A?

Will my phone A whatsapp have any link or anything to do with phone B whatsapp? While installing whatsapp in phone B I entered my phone B number and there was a verification sms sent to phone B.

Thanks

I am wondering now is it phone A and phone B are completely separate whatsapp, except that because phone A and phone B has the same google account so phone B was loaded with whatsapp backup of same google account?

During the android phone setup it requires a google account, phone A was using google account example@gmail.com , I was lazy to setup another google account so in phone B I also use the same google account example@gmail.com , is this the reason why the whatsapp chat history of phone A was loaded into phone B whatsapp?

(I like your "DON'T PANIC!!!!!!!!!" text under your username :) )

no its because you signed in with the same whatsapp account from phone A. just create a new account on phone B and you are fine.

How did I sign in the same whatsapp account, what did I do?
What does whatsapp use as account, is it a unique email or unique phone number?

In both phone A and in phone B whatsapp account I see the same email inside whatsapp settings>chats>chat backup>google drive settings>google account example@gmail.com

sorry i ok i should not be helping when its late for me.....lol

whatsapp uses your phone numbers. so i'm not sure how you have both phone a and b on the same account. maybe you used the change number feature in settings to merge the accounts?? anyways if you want, you can delete the account in phone b and start over.

I did not use any change number feature.
Thanks for your help. I appreciate your help.

Sorry I have to update something I saw. I made a mistake in my thread as I panicked.

Phone B chat history stopped at aug 2019 was not the complete of Phone A chat history which included 2020 chat.

In year 2019 I was using phone B with sim card number 12345678, In aug 2019 I changed to use phone A with sim card number 12345678 and left phone B unused.

Now I got a new sim card number 24682468 and I decided to use it in phone B. I just installed whatsapp using sim card number 24682468, I guess phone B chat history was what was leftover when I was using in year 2019 phone B sim card number 12345678, or maybe it was loaded by whatsapp.

I have updated the thread with the exact details.

yeah you do not have to do anything to phone A. phone B there is nothing you need to to the account. just uninstall or clear data.

What is the exact steps you do for clear data?

I am not sure did you mean clear whatsapp app cache or something, or do you mean "To clear WhatsApp data, open WhatsApp → Tap "Settings" → Tap "Chats" → Tap "Clear All Chats" → Return to the app." source https://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Data-on-WhatsApp

every phone is slightly different in their settings menu, but:
go to settings, find applications, scroll down the list till you see whatsapp, click on it, you can either uninstall or clear both cache and data.

When you want to completely remove all traces of your previous WhatsApp account from a phone, it's not a matter of doing so within the WhatsApp app itself. Go into your Settings >> Apps menu, find and open the WhatsApp app entry, tap on the Force stop button, then find and tap on Clear data, and then tap on Uninstall.
Using Clear data wipes that app's settings and configuration data, along with its cache. With some apps, just doing Uninstall does not necessarily mean everything relative to that app gets wiped. It will remove the executable parts but the config data will be left as is -- i.e. if you reinstall the app later your account info is still retained.
It sounds like you just used Uninstall and then when setting up your new number this created a mix of your two different accounts. Keep in mind your with a lot of online services, like WhatsApp, your account info is primarily stored online (server) and your phone is just fed data to be shown to you (client). Your WhatsApp app still works with whatever data is retained on your phone but it still relies primarily on the constant exchange of data with your online account.
