Help Please Help: usb device not recognized huawei ascend

My husband and I both have an Ascend, they are rooted and running 2.2.2. My husbands conected to the computer fine and we were able to use CM7 for his but I'm having a hard time doing mine because of usb problems. I've tried to revert back to stock by using MetroStockRecovery-Scrips zip I found on another thread and the "fastboot-windows" worked but the "metropcsstock-windowsMS-DOS batch file" is hanging out on the black screen "waiting for the device." I already reinstalled the 2.2.2 update hoping that would fix the problem but didn't. It doesn't seem possible to use CM& with out being able to use the usb. I've tried going into the market to use Rom Mod but when I try to get the zip file to boot my phone gets stuck on the white huawei screen, and if I try to hit vol up, talk, and press the on/off button nothing happens. I've tried searching through the forums to see if I could come up with a solution(loving the ultimate guide) but I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance, you guys are great and we come here anytime we wanna know something about our phones. I'm feeling rather broken at the moment<3 Running in Dino days with XP still... Even if I can't get CM7 I still wanna fix my usb beacuse we have to small childern and I need to be able to put pics, videos, and music on my pc from my phone. Yes I know I can send stuff over the web but its easer to do it in mass. I had already posted this oncce but it got moved to random CM7 issues, but CM7 isn't my only issue and the USB wasn't working before I evenb tried to do the update, so I posted it again. Hopefully someone can help me fix the usb, I already tried DL the drivers with no luck...

when you plug in the phone to charge, does it charge? try another cable and see, also the usb cable can become loose after a while and you might need to move it around a bit and see if it makes anynoise and see if it says usb in the notification area.

Yes it charges, but I have to wiggle the cord. We have 2 cord but have to wiggle both to get them to charge in either phone doesn't matter if its in the wall or the pc. My husbands works with the computer where as mine only charges. The notification to ubs debug never pops up on the phone and a bubble pops up on the computer saying windows does not recognize the device and the the device has malfunctioned and to to either replug it in or replace the device. We've tried plugging it into our desktop and a laptop and get the same error with my phone only. We tried downloading the driver for the computer and tried flashing the phone back to 2.1 with the "MetroStockRecover" I found on another thread on these forums. The 1st file "fastboot-windows" box popped up and disappeared but the "MetroPCSStock-windows" box stayed and said "waiting on device." Not sure if any of that helps. if you still have no luck, try to get a card reader, you can access you SD card. alot of us went that route. good luck...
