Flash the .12 RUU, the ROM itself is stable and there are no general battery issues... There are excellent directions in the All Thing Root section. If this fails, I would contact VZW for a replacement.Ever since upgrading to ice, battery drains so fast. Also gets really hot! I tried factory reset and still have the problem. Any suggestions?

It is not rooting or modifying your phone beyond completely stock, the .12 RUU is the official Ice Cream Sandwich OTA update, just in RUU packaging instead of an OTA update, they are exactly the same when it's all said and done. The RUU is the complete ROM image, not just the changes from GB to ICS, that is why it is twice the size.If I do that, could I still go to Verizon? I thought that when u root it, they kind of lose all responsibility. And is .12 jelly bean or what? As u can tell, I'm a bit behind haha

And yes you can still go to Verizon, even if your phone is rooted you can still go to VZW... note their policy is that modifying the system software may void your warranty, and many people have sent their phones in for warranty replacement with root installed and had no problems.
Installing the RUU will replace the OTA and reset your phone. Make sure to back up your internal memory if there is anything on there that you don't want to lose.

Simple instructions:sorry, but i cant seem to find the guide on how to do this :/
jstew23, when you say "after 1hour 55mins" are you talking about since you removed it from the charger or screen on time?
After upgrading from .10 to .12, my battery is much better and the phone runs cooler. Right now I'm sitting at 38% after 1h 51m 30s of screen on time and 1h 15m 25s of voice call time. Voice call is what used to really kill my battery. I'm at 84F and haven't seen that temp since....I don't know. I haven't been using the phone very hard for the last 30 mins or so since I'm in my office but still...
Definitely flash the ruu twice as recommended.
Simple instructions:
Download the RUU file here: [Exclusive Download] HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich RUU For Final OTA (3.14.605.12)
Make sure the MD5 of the file matches once it is on the SD Card! I can't stress this enough!!! Rename the file on the SD Card to PM86IMG.zip (case sensitive).
Turn off Fastboot.
Turn off phone, then turn it back on holding the VOL DOWN+POWER, the process should start automatically and take up to 20 minutes. If after 30 minutes it is still not doing anything, pull the battery.
Restart, and let the phone boot up completely but do not go through the setup process, just let if boot all the way and sit there for a couple minutes, then power off and repeat the flash from the above step of holding down the VOL DOWN+POWER and let if flash again!
Reboot and enjoy the Ice Creamy goodness.
Remember to remove or rename the PM86IMG.zip file to prevent accidental flashing and defaulting your phone later.
Google could be your friend here if you need better instructions, although MrSmith over at AndroidCentral.com did a nice write up here on how to do it: [How-To] Flash a leaked RUU - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
I mean 2 hours off a charge. I did use it pretty heavy tho to test it out. But still waaaay worse than before the ota. I mean, if I'm on fbook for 15 mins, I have to take ny battery out so it doesnt over heat. I haven't got a chance to download the ruu since its so big and I had things to do. Since it is the sane android and sense, I an a bit unsure of how this will work.. but def gonna give it a try before I go to Verizon. I will post results by end of night. That way other ppl havin this problem that can't figure it out, will have a solution as well, if it works![]()
Same thing for me. Gets hot and battery life is terrible. wife has same phone. We bothed did the OTA update and hers is just as bad as mine. I hardly use my phone and it fully discharges in 6-7 hours without even using it. If I make a couple of calls and a few texts, maybe scroll through Twitter and Facebook for about 15 minutes and the phone is dead in 3 hours. I can't stress enough how bad the battery is. I'm a very light user and it's atrocious. I'm jus waiting on clarification of what to rename the file before I flash. don't want any problems. Also i'm convinced the factory reset doesn't work. I've talked to people on other forums that say it worked but now after a few days they're saying battery is getting bad again. I'm willing to try anything at this point. Really miss GB now. I got awesome battery life on GB.
It is supposed to be ph, not pm. That's what everywhere else says
Indeed, it is PH98IMG.zip and not the one I listed above... my bad, hope it didn't cause you too many headaches. I will go back and try to correct it in case someone else sees it later.
