Root please help with cwm recovery!

Hey everyone, Im new to the forum and im not sure im posting in the right place but basically i have a uscc Samsung galaxy s2 (sch-r760) so that's why i posted here, its essentially the same as the e4gt. I rooted my gs2 using e4gtAuto and Odin-one click and its working fine so far but i wanted to change my boot animation and downloaded Rom manager then used that to get clockwork mod recovery which i need to get a kernel that supports boot animation and when i boot into recovery rather than seeing the cwm recovery screen i get the regular android recovery screen and idk how to get cwm to work. Sorry guys im a noob but im learning and i could really use some help. Thanks!!

If you used an odin one xlick then you have a rooted phone with stock recovery. You need to flash a kernel with cwm recovery. There are several ways to do this but I have no idea what is compatible with your phone.

Okay, thank you! So I should just search for a kernel that is compatible with the sch-r760 and then flash it? I think I can figure it out from here, I thought I needed cwm to get a custom kernel in the first place so once again thanks for the help!

Its hard to say with a different phone but on my Epic 4g Touch the easiest way to add a custom recovery is to use this tool [ROOT][NCIQ][EG30/EG31/EK02] Auto root your existing stock ROM (w/o ODIN/ROM Flash) - xda-developers

Select option D then pick the appropriate kernel that goes with the rooted rom you flashed.

Update at your own risk on us cellular version but this works like a charm on Sprint phones
