Ok, so i have successfully rooted my Samsug Galaxy Ace, which is running 2.3.3 (Gingerbread i think). I Used the russian 'upd_1.zip' method. After, I downloaded Clockwork Mod's 'ROM Manager', and when I tap 'Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery' The list doesn't come up with my phone. It obviously isn't compatible

So i googled around and apparently I can use the same method that i used with the russian root, exept this time with 'ClockWorkModAce.zip'. If i install this, can i then get custom ROMs, or will my phone still be incompatible?

Thanks in advance guys

CWM(clockworkmod) is for making recovery images of your mobile and other advanced options. By flashing clockworkmod you will be able to flash custom roms.
By the way rom manager has started supporting our Ace but i guess it is ROM specific.:)

Yes, i know what CWM is, but what i'm asking is basically how can i flash CWM Recovery? Because my phone doesn't come up on the list :/

Download the zip file to the root of your sdcard. Reboot into recovery by pressing the power and middle key simultaneously when the phone is off.
In the recovery mode choose apply update from sdcard and select the zip file. Reboot when done.
