Root Please help

I am all new to this but i rooted my phone lg esteem 4g with zvd but when i go to rom manager to back up to install a rom i just reboots and the andriod guy comes up with a white triangle exclamation mark that's orange can some one please help me out what did i do wrong?

You didn't flash clockwork recovery

No clockwork and you can't back up nor flash anything. You can flash clockwork recovery using rom manager but I'd suggest just following this post. I despise ROM manager
