I found a really good offer on Craigslist for the HTC One and I really want to get it except I don't know what I'd have to do to get it up and running on T-Mobile's network. Would I have to unlock it or something or do all I need to do is a pop a new sim card in. I also want to be able to get LTE because it'll be in my area this month. Is there a way to get LTE on the phone and what will I have to do to get LTE? Or is there no such way because unlocked devices generally can't get LTE. Thank you all so much in advance! Sorry for all the questions I just really want the One and I can't miss an opportunity like this.

Is it a T-Mobile HTC One? If so, and you're a Tmo customer, just pop your current sim in and go. The phone is LTE capable so if its in your area you don't have to do anything.

If it isn't a T-Mobile branded phone, you might have trouble getting LTE or even 4G. It depends on the frequencies its compatible with.

Are you a T Mobile user and is the phone a T Mobile unit? If so, you can just insert your SIM card and use it. If it's not, you would have to pay a fee to unlock it or request the seller to unlock it for you. If not sure, just ask.

The HTC One is an LTE enabled device, so getting it to use LTE is not a problem.

Another thing to watch out of for is if the device is blacklisted for being stolen. Before buying request the IMEI number to check it's status.

Oh yea, that's another safety precaution. Don't be so tempted to act despite such a good deal.
