Help PLEASE help

Hello I am a Verizon customer my wife is straight talk customer I was due for a update so I got the Samsung Galaxy s5 then when i got home I deacivated it, I was gonna just give to my wife for the straight talk using the bring your own phone kit, I just bought the kit and straight talk is telling me I can't use it on there plan because it was activated with another company with in 6 months but after 6 months we can use it then, is there any way around this like unlocking it or something please help we don't know what to do and wanna use the phone

Well I know on Verizon a phone has to be on post paid 6 months before it can be used on prepaid so it seems the same is true for straight talk. Why not just use the phone on Verizon for 6 months then switch it. Mary

My wife just picked up a Verizon s5 yesturday that is only 2 months old and she uses it on net10 with no issues. Net10 is basically the exact same thing as straight talk just a different name. The phone is factory unlocked and you will likely have no issues. Verizon probably told you that because they dont want you leaving there service with a phone provided by them. I was told this before by AT&T as well.

It sounds like straight talk is the one saying that, is Verizon some how connected to straight talk? Mary

I was told by Verizon that no phone can be registered to a pre-paid plan until it has been registered six months once it has been activated.

It sounds like that you bought a Verizon phone that was already activated. Had it not been activated, Straight Talk most likely would have done what you want.

The reason for that is, you bought a phone from Verizon at a discount. right? They need to recuperate that discounted money. if you only paid $200 for the phone, you have a lease on it, you do not own it until the contract is paid for.

You can though use that phone on another Verizon post paid account. If your wife had been on Verizon but not due for her upgrade yet she could have taken your upgrade then when her upgrade came around you could use hers. Prepaid accounts can be tricky sometimes trying to use postpaid phones. Mary
