PLEASE HELP!

I have just purchased a droidplayer m8 box, gone to xbmc, clicked install DP as instructions say, gets to various %, normally around 50, highest is 70%, then stops, gives a script error, then turns my connection off, happens with both wifi and ethernet. This is brand new out the box, but wont run Install DP. Have rebooted and still the same. Its a Droidplayer M8, running android kitkat

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
 
Hello and welcome to the forums. Happy holidays to you I am understanding you having a problem with the m8 is this a rooted m8 and did you install fusion

I'm not too sure what you mean sorry, when I start it up, i have an xbmc icon at the bottom of the meu, when i select it takes me to xbmc gotham, says preparing for first use, then takes me to a screen with a green background, xbmc top left corner, droidplayer top right, and 2 options, settings and install DP. The instructions with it said select that to install, but doesnt get further, not too sure how to install fusion, do I need to get past this stage?

OK you didn't install any repository yet such as fusion
 
no havent got an option to, im just trying to install this as advised but wont get any further, i have managed to get as high as 94% before it fails, ive attached a picture of the screen i get if that helps

yes and those 2 options are all i have available, if i go to settings, its for the device itself, connection, display etc. I dont have an option for file manager

Also xbmc and kodi has made major changes . so things such as mashup and a few other things Dont work . what I wanted you to do was put fusion so the device will update and you can make changes
 
yes it was updated already, there was a latest version put on the 5th of december, and I downloaded an add on for an update that was put on the 19th of december, it then says to run this but it fails with script editor, ive followed everything on the below links, which were put in place as mashup is no longer supported

im just a bit wary of resetting as im not 100% sure with it, and dont want to lose the settings as its new
 
connection is fine, 100mb connection, every other device on the same connection is working fine, even tried killing everything else off, other than web browsing on pc, to just allow that the connection
