Help Please, how do I get rid of white labels?

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the white labels under my icons? I have managed to get rid of the white writing under my folders but am stumped on the icons writing.

Thank you in advance!

No, I'm running the stock launcher. Used to use Launcher Pro but since getting my G Nexus I haven't seen the need to change..........yet!

I cannot recommend Nova highly enough. I love it, and it does not require root, although it is slightly more functional if you're rooted.

So what, in your opinion, is the advantage of Nova over stock launcher, apart from the ability to remove white labels?

Thanks,

Linda

Hi Linda,

You can remove the search bar at the top of your screen, opening up a whole new row of icons. You can change the actual icons of your various programs.

Here is a post of my home screen at present. I'm a tinkerer and I change it frequently :)

You can do everything I did here except the nav buttons at the bottom. I changed those with a rooted ROM.

The cool thing though about launchers, you're not like, eliminating the stock launcher. You can switch back and forth between them. DL it and poke around. See if you like it. Switch back and forth between it and stock.

I've disabled the Icon Labels in Nova and now when I go back and recheck the option to show labels they don't come back. A reboot doesn't even help. Do either of you have problems turning labels back on?

There are no disadvantages to Nova since it's based on the stock launcher you don't lose any of the ICS look and feel unless you decide to switch it off.

It adds infinite scroll, new transitions, ability to edit or remove labels, makes the lower dock scrollable with up to 3 pages, add or remove any number of homescreens up to 7.

These are just the free version - paid addsthe ability to hid apps in the drawer, adds a ton of different transitions and makes the dock icons swipable so that a different things happens when you swipe up on an icon to when you tap. It also adds gestures to the homescreens to make different actions.

Essentially you lose nothing from the stock launcher (since it's open source, Nova is identical) but gain a load of things which are all optional so you can pick and choose to get your perfect launcher

Thanks guys! Loaded Nova and love it. Really like your homescreen Outatime! My white labels are all gone and everything I need is in folders on the scrolling dock! Great to have a lovely clear homescreen!

By the way, I love the way you guys are prepared to patiently help an old bird like me!
