Pocket PC emulators on Android?

The play store has two apps I've downloaded to my HTC One X+. One is great the other no so as I can't get downloaded data to display on my phone....though it is likely user error :). Need an internet connection for both

play store go to
Watchtower Online Library App
LitApps

it uses the internet but you have the ease of accessing the online WT library.

I have a Droid X

I would like to run a program that requires Microsoft Windows Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition or higher (but not Windows Phone 7).

Are there any Pocket PC emulators on Android?
I need that too. I have a great research library for the Windows PC, and it can be downloaded to a mobile phone, but the phone has to have Pocket PC on it.

People still use Pocket PCs these days? i thought they died off when smartphones were invented?

Think they're referring to "Pocket PC" for Windows CE. That's very much dead, discontinued and unsupported. It's Windows Phone now, which is incompatible with the old Windows CE programs. AFAIK there is no emulator for Android.

Pocket PC could also be a generic term for PDA. And the PDA evolved into the modern smartphone of course. After all take a smartphone, remove the phone part, what you've got is basically a PDA. The iPod Touch is really just a kind of PDA. Many manufacturers refer to Android tablets as "Tablet PCs", even though they're not running Windows.

Some of us still have working Palms! I have a Palm III, Visor Handspring, and a couple of Sonys.

I admired the system. Don't know what it would have morphed into today.

The only usable item these days (and it would only be half-functional as their app stores or such have long been discontinued) would be the later Windows Mobile 7 devices, or Windows Mobile 6. Nokia had a really nice BlackBerry clone that ran 6, had a keyboard and all. i remember drooling over one of those if i saw it back before the iPhone had even been released. it was the era of the Moto RAZR (the original flip phone) and Symbian devices. However, today, i would find it hard to have. it's like a Zune HD. sure, the device isn't THAT old, but it's old enough...Heck, i still have my old BlackBerry Curve. App World only half-works on it if i reactivate the old Virgin Mobile account, but the apps currently installed--Google Voice, Gmail, Weather Channel and Pandora--are no longer available, so if i deleted them, i couldn't get them back. that's how far gone that device has become.

Think you might have your windows mobile, and windows phone mixed up there.... which isn't a surprise seeing as the hash Microsoft has made with their smartphone/pda branding over the years..

Certainly the windows mobile 5/6 and Pocket PC devices can still get software.. there are plently of cab archives about... and even handango (the app store before Apple invented the term) is still knocking about....

(and i'm 99.9999% sure that nokia never had a windows mobile device)

Is there an app in google play store that will run items that require Microsoft Windows Pocket PC? Really want this on my tablet for research library.

I could not find an emulator for Microsoft Windows Pocket PC. However, through a previous post I found a way to connect to my PC through my Android Galaxy 10.1 tablet. Because the Watchtower Library is not installed on my tablet there is a data usage impact. It is also designed to work through your Gmail account, though it is not required, it is much easier. Here are the steps I took:
1. On your computer, download the Pocketcloud desktop app from Wyse at https://appservices.wyse.com/pages/serviceandsupport/support/dlOraFW.asp?which=106&model=Wyse%20PocketCloud%28Software%20Downloads%29
2. From Google Play, install PocketCloud app on your Android device and follow the setup instructions.
3. Once PocketCloud is installed on your Android device, install the downloaded Pocketcloud desktop app on your computer.
4. Follow the set up instruction on your computer. It will ask you to have a Windows password. I have found that connection is easier if you have a password on your computer for this app.
5. Connect through your Android device using the Pocketcloud app. Once you click on connect it will ask for a user name and password. This is the computer name (as shown in the top right when you click on Windows or “Start” button on your computer). The password is your Windows password on your computer.
Having said all that I have found it easier to use the Watchtower Online Library at Watchtower ONLINE LIBRARY and save it as a desktop icon on my tablet.
