I managed to pickup about 15-20 Pokéballs while riding the bus to work today. The trick is to tap on the station before you pass and spin as fast as possible. Also I caught a Pokey on my bus ride home a couple of days ago. How that happened I have no idea, we were moving at the time.

yep I get stops all the time when riding the bus. Also, once you initiate a battle it can be on your screen until the end of time and you make it into another country, that's okay - it will still work.
