...things seem to be running way better

Off and on.

It's obvious to me that there are still issues. Browsing sites before and after coming to this one is as it should be; snappy and quick to load, whereas this one is most often quite slow to load and still yields a blank page now and then or "database error."

mines loads fine, when it loads.. my only problem is sometimes it just wont connect. but a refresh usually does the trick
